A Strong Foundation for Dental Implants
If Dr. Park determines that you are a good candidate for dental implants, we may need to perform a bone grafting procedure before the actual dental implant placement. Bone grafting helps to restore or strengthen the bone tissue that would support a set of implants. Dental implants require a strong foundation in order to fuse to your jaw bone. Bone grafting provides this foundation, so your implants remain stable and durable after placement. Dr. Park will first check to see if you have adequate bone levels in both the upper and lower jaw to support implants. If there is not enough bone tissue available, you will receive bone grafting treatment and wait for the bone tissue to assimilate with the jaw bone. Once everything is secure, we can move forward with fusing the base of the dental implant into the jaw and completing the placement process.
Benefits of Bone Grafting
- Restores damaged bone tissue
- Increases success rate of dental implant placement
- Reduces risk of jaw deterioration
- Natural assimilation into the jaw
- Permanent results
